Project Recap: Integrating EU Youth Goals into Youth Work

In May 2024, Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, hosted a special project to bring EU Youth Goals into youth work. The aim was to align Turkish youth policies with the broader objectives of the European Union.
Objectives
The project aimed to help youth organizations in Turkey understand and use the EU Youth Goals in their daily work.
Participation
The program included more than 55 participants from over 12 different countries and regions. This mix of people made for a lively exchange of ideas and best practices. Morocco was represented by four participants who played an important role by sharing their unique insights and working well with others.
Activities, Learning, and Outcomes
Participants took part in group work, drama, and brainstorming sessions, learning about the EU Youth Goals and thinking about how to use them in their organizations. The program showed examples of how to integrate these goals into daily activities. Participants created new activities for their organizations, matched with the EU Youth Goals, and learned practical methods to integrate them into existing activities. Energizing ice-breakers and group dynamic exercises helped build a strong team environment, while informative sessions about non-governmental organizations provided valuable knowledge. Cultural nights and social programs helped participants celebrate different cultures and build social connections. The project improved youth work by integrating EU Youth Goals into daily practices, strengthening international collaborations and networks, and sharing diverse perspectives and best practices to make youth work more effective. This project not only enhanced youth work in Turkey but also created a network of youth workers dedicated to sharing and using best practices in different regions. The success of the project shows the value of international collaboration in improving youth work
